Founded more than a decade ago, Lifestory Research America's Most Trusted® study provides insight into how people shop for products based on trust. Lifestory Research conducts more than 50 product studies each year in which we survey people about their views and experiences with different brands, and once a year, we share insights about which brands consumers trust the most.
Through trust, brands and companies differentiate themselves from their rivals and peers in the market. Profits, loyalty, positive word of mouth, and customer satisfaction all depend on the level of trust that customers have in a brand. When customers trust a brand, revenues rise, costs decline, and customer satisfaction skyrockets.
As defined by three levels of consumer trust: Trust Advocates, Trust Neutrals, and Trust Antagonists, the Net Trust Index Quotient Score is used to rank the brands. A brand with the highest Net Trust Index Quotient Score has significant consumer trust, whereas a brand with a Trust Antagonist voices distrust.

The Lifestory Research 2023 America’s Most Trusted® Outdoor Cooking Grill Study found Weber as the most trusted brand among people considering purchasing outdoor cooking grills. The Lifestory Research 2023 America’s Most Trusted® Outdoor Cooking Grill ranking is based on 3,548 opinions of people surveyed between January and December in the United States. With the Net Trust Quotient Score of 121.0, Weber had the highest trust rating among the most popular outdoor cooking grills.
The most trusted outdoor cooking grill brands, in order, were Weber, Traeger, Blackstone, Char-Broil, Cuisinart, Masterbuilt, Char-Griller, Pit Boss, Napoleon, Oklahoma Joe's, Nexgrill, Kamado Joe, and Royal Gourmet. Weber received the best reviews and trust ratings among the most popular outdoor cooking grills as judged by consumers.
Brands included in the final ranking were nationally recognized by people actively shopping for an outdoor cooking grill. Trust is by people looking for a quality outdoor cooking grill and is also used to form their own assessment of customer satisfaction.
If an outdoor cooking grill brand had a low brand awareness and did not have enough brand judgments, these brands were excluded from the rankings. For the best outdoor grill brands to qualify and be included in the national ratings, the number of survey responses needed to exceed a 95% confidence level with a margin of error less than 3%.
